Community involvement is a big part of our family. We love helping… and we also get a kick out of organizing things! So my wife Kate and I, along with our two kids try to involve ourselves where we believe we can make in impact.

Since 2007 we have helped dozens of local causes through the founding of the Sandhills Race Series and our 501(c)(3) charity TeamGreen. Our greatest local passion is for a charity event my wife and I founded, called the Reindeer Fun Run–it is now a full family affair.

Founded a community-wide event to promote family fitness and fun with the goal of supporting local charities such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills. The Reindeer Fun Run now attracts thousands of runners and has become part of the area’s local holiday tradition.

It all started because of what we awoke to see and hear on a chilly December morning back in 2006. We were in Charleston for a visit and stumbled upon their Reindeer Run. We saw joggers dressed as Christmas presents, kids dressed like Santa, dogs dressed like elves, and more people in antlers than you could imagine. What was all this craziness? As we talked to spectators along the route we learned that this was their Reindeer Run! My husband and I looked at each other and realized at that moment we shared the very same thought – this needs to happen in our community! And that’s how it began.

As of January 2021, we’re proud to have donated over $400,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills from the Reindeer Fun Run.

Our mission is to raise awareness and funds for area causes, as well as those national organizations that touch our community. Every year we host the annual Reindeer Fun Run in Aberdeen, NC to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills.

“When COVID hit, TeamGreen was positioned to make a difference–something my wife Kate did immediately, establishing the dba Neighbors Feeding Neighbors.

Within days of lockdown, Neighbors Feeding Neighbors began coordinating the preparation and delivery of over 6,000 meals per week to those in immediate need of meals due to the impact of COVID-19. Neighbors Feeding Neighbors was our way to help during the early stages of the COVID-19 crisis, from March thru June of 2020.”
